26/03/2008 - Predator Heads North With Beaverplant
Predator Manufacturing has announced the appointment of Beaverplant of Stamford Bridge, York as main dealer of Predator Stump Grinders for the North of England. This follows the recent announcement that ArborPlant would become the main UK distributor. Beaverplant will cover the area north of Liverpool and Manchester, across to Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Northumberland, Cumberland and Scotland.
Former tree surgeon Alan Oldfield, who started Beaverplant over five years ago, has seen interest in Predator machines increase considerably. So much so he will be holding a large stock, particularly now the prices have come down. "The UK market for stump grinders is looking for more compact machines, easily accessible for small back gardens," he says. "The Predator 28hp (20.8kW) has a very narrow track, just 26" (67cm), to fit through tight entrances and even the powerful 75hp (55kW) is compact enough to get into difficult spaces. Predator is a winner because they produce tracked machines for all- terrain and offer quality in the build, reliability and now they are available at lower costs."

21/03/2008 - Hill Quick Hitches & Buckets At The Forefront For Quality, Safety & Performance
Leading excavator attachments manufacturer, Hill Engineering Ltd, is experiencing an ever increasing demand for its products in the UK and Ireland, as well as from across Europe and the USA.
Ireland-based Hill Engineering provides top quality, highly reliable, world-leading attachments, including the unique 'Safety First' Auto-Loc quick hitch, together with a range of exceptionally durable excavator buckets. As an extremely forward thinking company, Hill continues to invest heavily in both research & development, as well as in its manufacturing resources.
The 'Safety First' Auto-Loc fully automatic excavator quick hitch is a notable example of their product innovation. With the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) having issued a number of safety alerts and now proposing a ban on the production of semi-automatic hitches, following four fatalities over the past year where attachments have accidentally become detached from such devices (generally attributed to incorrect operator use), some contractors and plant hirers are recommending that only fully automatic versions be allowed on their machines/sites.
20/03/2008 - Oswald Record Plant Sales Are Appointed Sole Importers Of Sullair Pneumatic Tools
As from April 2008 Oswald Record are delighted to announce that they will be handling all requirements for Sullair pneumatic concrete breakers, picks, hand drills, pokers and demolition hammers into the U.K.
Having supplied most of the major Contractors and Plant Hire companies with the Sullair range in the U.K they have seen a remarkable increase of over 40 per cent in market share. Recent articles on vibration issues have added to the somewhat confused speculation over what operators and hire companies should be recommending to the end user. The MK250 road breaker has not only one of the lowest tested vibration figures but is also one of the most reliable to use on site. This reliabilty means that the job gets done in a shorter time and with a tri axis vibration of 5.9 m/s 2 means that vibration is kept to a minimum. All of the Sullair range can be safely judged on this reliability which is testament to the low demand for tool spares compared to the high volume of sales achieved including the king of the demolition hammers the SK12 and the SK10 pick hammer .

07/03/2008 - KDM Goes Green - First for Northern Ireland
KDM Hire recently introduced the Greenmech range of wood chippers to its hire fleet at both its depots in Belfast and Cookstown. The range of chippers includes the SAFE-Trak STC 19-28 tracked wood chipper, the first of its kind available to hire in Northern Ireland. Alongside this is the introduction of the Arborist 19-28 tow-able machine, with its 7 ½" capacity.
The exceptional design of the SAFE-Trak 19-28 wood chipper allows the tracked machine to get to the work site without any difficulties. The independently controlled legs allow the machine to be tracked across slopes where lesser machines become un-safe. The machine is able to clear tree stumps, negotiate uneven ground and wade through water or muddy surfaces.
For those easy to access areas, the tow-able Arborist 19-28 has been added to the ever evolving KDM fleet. The introduction of the Arborist 19-28 with its 19cm x 28cm (7.5 x 11 inch) feed entry and top safety control bar has a performance far in excess of any other 19cm (7.5inch) chipper, indeed it is in a class of its own. With its ability to drag in the most difficult material with the minimal trimming, it gets the job done quicker and more efficiently than ever before.
